Charity for January 2019

Wednesday 16 Jan 2019

Australian Seabird Rescue Inc. began in 1992 with a gentleman called Lance Ferris who noticed there was a Pelican with a fishing related injury. Right then and there he decided to help the bird and released the pelican then and there. On the very same day he counted 108 pelicans and 37 of them had fishing related injuries…and so began Australian Seabird Rescue.

Since then, Australian Seabird Rescue was established as a non-profit volunteer organization which rescues and rehabilitates 100’s of sea turtles, seabirds, sea snakes and shorebirds every year along the coast of NSW.

Currently we have 9 sea turtles and 3 seabirds in care which on average costs about $1000.00 a week just for food and medication alone.

We value the support of our generous community to reduce the human impact on marine life.
