Bordered by Leycester Creek, the Wilsons River and Booerie Creek this smaller suburb of approximately 800 residents is subject to flooding and for this reason the majority of houses occupied by the population are highset. Investment properties make up a smaller portion of the dwellings with around 20%.
This is an older suburb and has a smaller industrial section but you can also find a vegetarian café, a small art gallery and the iconic Northern Rivers Hotel. The area is home to a weekly organic fruit and vegetable market and the well-utilised Lismore Showgrounds where regular events are held including a weekly farmers market, an annual Outdoor Leisure Show, North Coast National Show, Tropical Fruits New Years Eve Party, regular Speedway meetings and much more.
Just down the road is the long established Richmond River High School and just outside the suburb to the north sits St Johns College Woodlawn.
